Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal information PageOn PDF ("we", "us") collects through pageonpdf.com, the PageOn PDF app and your PageOn account, and how we use it.

 

The short version

• Your documents stay on your device. PageOn PDF opens, edits and runs OCR on your files on your own device. A document only leaves it when you choose: when you send it for signature, or when you use an AI tool, which sends it straight to the AI provider you picked, on your own account.
• We collect only what we need to run your account and licence, to support you, and to improve the product.
• We do not sell your personal information.

 

What we collect

• Name and email address: why: Your account, receipts, password reset and important product emails; where it is kept: Our account system.
• Licence and activation data: licence ID, plan, device name, an anonymous device identifier, operating system and app version: why: To activate your licence on up to two devices and check it at least every 30 days; where it is kept: Our licence server.
• Order details: plan, price, country, tax, order number: why: Billing and refunds; where it is kept: Paddle, our Merchant of Record; we receive a copy
• Support messages: why: To answer you; where it is kept: Our support email
• Website usage: pages visited, browser and approximate location: why: To understand how the website is used; where it is kept: Webhost, which hosts the website
• App downloads and new accounts: the approximate town and country your connection comes from, worked out by our network provider (we never keep your IP address for this); why: To see where PageOn is downloaded and used; where it is kept: Our licence server
• Stamps, signatures and settings (only if you turn this on): your stamps, engineer seals, Permit to Practice stamps, signature images, stamp details, company branding and app settings such as tool styles, toolbar, shortcuts, report and signing options (AI keys are never stored); why: So they are on every device you sign in on and in the online app; where it is kept: Our account system, private to you. Turn it off or remove them any time in Menu > Licence & account
• AI tools (only if you use them): Ask AI, Summarize and Translate send the document text straight from your device to the AI provider you choose, on your own account and under its terms; a local AI keeps it on your computer; PageOn does not receive it
• Signature requests you send: the document, signer names and emails, signatures and signing history (dates, times, IP addresses); why: So people can sign it; where it is kept: Our account system, deleted 30 days after the request ends

Payment cards: Paddle collects and processes your payment details. We never see or store your full card number.

 

Who we share it with

We use these service providers, only for the purposes above:

• Paddle: checkout, payment, tax and invoicing (Merchant of Record)
• Webhost: hosting of the account and license services and sending account emails.
• Website Host: hosting of the website

We may also disclose information where the law requires it.

 

Where data is stored

Our providers may store data in Canada, the United States, the European Union or other countries. Where this happens, we rely on their contractual safeguards.

 

How long we keep it

• Account and licence data: while your account is active, then for up to 24 months.
• Order records: as long as tax law requires, normally 7 years.
• Support emails: up to 3 years.

 

Your rights

You can ask to access, correct, download or delete your personal information, or object to how we use it, by emailing Contact@PageOnPDF.com. Depending on where you live, you have rights under Canada's PIPEDA, the EU and UK GDPR, or US state privacy laws. If you are not happy with our answer, you can complain to your local privacy regulator. In Canada, that is the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

 

Cookies

• pageonpdf.com: uses cookies set by Webhost to run the site and measure visits. You can control non-essential cookies through the cookie banner.
• The account site: uses only the cookies needed to keep you signed in.

 

Children

PageOn PDF is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

 

Changes

We will post any changes here with a new date. We will email account holders about significant changes.
